Almost Hidden

This is a Texas Hill Country buck. He was so well hidden in the brush, I almost missed him. Three or four frames and he was gone.

50D
1/400
7.1
ISO 640

Thanks for looking at my pictures and for any comment.

I can imagine you almost missed him Jack; he is like one with his environment and that is exactly what I like about the image. We often wish to see as much background separation as possible and preferably have smooth OOF ones, but that is not a necessity to make a good image and this is a good example of that. Shooting techs look great, but personally I would cool the image down a tad. I quickly took it into PS, did a auto curves adjustment, reduced the opacity and came up with something much more natural looking.

You have very good focus on the buck which helps lift him from the busy background. Great specimen. I think Vincent's suggestions with provide some enhancement!
