The Glory of Heaven

I arrived Maroubra coast (Sydney) in the late afternoon with a hope to have some sunset lighting. But the sky was unsettled instead. Just couple of meters away, a huge wave crashed against the cliff causing a 15 meter surge, which I witnessed and happened to capture. As a result, my camera was completely wet and my camera bag was also washed away. Fortunately, I got the bag back without much damage to my gears.

Great water action here. Dramatic sky. Think it was worth while. Well done

What a cool shot--a great moment well-captured! Very unique and dramatic. I think it wopuld have even greater impact (and broader appeal) if you brighten it up about 1/2 stop.

What a shot Yan! The comp with the spray placement, and the moody clouds to boot make this truly unique. I love it. I also would brighten it a little; I bet that at full-size it was perfect. It doesn't need much, the dark mood is complimentary to that sky, but just enough to catch the eye a little more.

I like the spray of water but the image seems a little dark, I'd suggest a little brightening. My other comment might be tat the composition seems a little heavy on the left, the small area of color and brightness in the sky on the right doesn't seem to be able to balance out the rocks.

The soft light and the spray work together beautifully. Nice work.

Hi Stan, John and Scott, Thanks for pointing that the image a bit dark. Sometimes, it's bit hard to balance this, especailly when I reviewed this image from different computers, the drakness/lightness is different from one to another. Here is a new version that I lighten it a bit.

Very unique and beautiful. I can almost feel the water. And to have such a sky to go with this is icing on the cake. Lighter version is a bit better, but that's merely personal preference.

Very interesting work! First of all I really like the perspective. The low position and the upwards "look" create a good effect. That curtain of water looks amazing too. A bit of a dark image, but sure looks impressive!
