Jökulsárlón Peace

Hi there,

From a recent photography trip to Iceland. Jökulsárlón was incredibly peaceful and after the sun had set the exposure was much easier to get correct. The only sound was the occasional iceberg moving. Thanks for looking and C&C always welcome. Please view large!

rich magentas here. the floe on the left is a little soft - either OOF or moving? it's a little distracting. otherwise very nice, compelling place!

Beautiful colour palette and an amazing looking landscape. I noticed the soft lower left corner especially on the large version too. Perhaps a crop above this area?

Hi,

Thanks for your comments. It is because the ice is actually moving. I don't want to crop it really from the bottom because I like the shape on the right leading into the view. It doesn't bother me too much really but I understand your comments.

Thanks

Hi,

I did take quite a view versions from this location. Maybe I can look through them again and find one where the ice isn't moving............

Love the colour here and the scenery is fantastic of course. I do agree with Stuart that the moving ice in the fg is a little distracting, but overall a very pleasing image to look at!

Wicked color! The blurry fg is really distracting me though

Terrific scene! Great color too. I agree with the comments regarding the softness in the lrhc.

A lot of mmagenta in here but i love the magenta tone here. A beautiful landscape. The soft foreground distracts me a bit here. but overall it is a very nice shot

I'd probably go with a little bit of a bluer tone, but thats probably only because I have a personal grudge with magentas. I can't seem to escape them in my shots, so I have to work a little harder in PS to get rid of them while balancing the natural colors.
Anyway, I love the image overall. :toast: :jump:

The light really emphasizes all the shapes of the ice giving an interesting 3d look to the image. Gorgeous shot, Adrian! Can't wait to see more. Yes, the repost is better.

Lovely soft pastel mood. Surprisingly the ice / icebergs move here quite a lot more than you think.

Adrian,

This is a beautifully composed scene with great color. I really like the transition from the floating ice, to the "mounds" and then on to the mountains and sky. all very well balanced together. I see the softness and thanks for your explanation. Works for me!

Love the way the water and ice pick up and reflect the sky. The ice shapes are very nice too.
