Bald Eagle Perch

Just as we were leaving the Wayne Co., PA encounter with this bald eagle watching over its nest and offspring, I stopped to take some final shots. This one turned out pretty well as the head turn helped.

D-60 at ISO-400 as I hoped to be ready for flight, 1/640th, f-5.6. Only had the Nikkor 200mm, at the max. Cropped down quite a bit. Larger posted too. This made my day. C&C is always welcomed.

(I have been allowed to use a nice new D-90 and new Sigma 50-500mm for a few days, along with a 300mm lens to test drive by a wonderful, and trusting couple. I'm sure I'll be asking for help there.) Thanks!

The larger view is especially pleasing Bill! I like the blue sky through the beautiful pine, the perch branch is a good diagonal element in your composition. You also have a good exposure on that tricky white eagle head, nicely done!

Very nice scene Bill and the larger version does show it better. As you already know it does suffer from the size of the crop. The angle is a bit steep too.

Have fun with that gear, we will look forward to seeing the results.

Nice shot Bill. I'd love to get this close to one of these guys.

I am shooting a D90 so I will try to help in any way I can.
