Into the Sun

I was following this crow across the sky and stupidly followed him too close to the sun, making my eyes hurt for a day. I know, I said it was stupid. The interior of the sun was blown out so I did a color replacement. And the crow was washed out so I used selective burning. But I really like the ribbon of cloud with the sun. I'd love to hear opinions about the processing ... did I go too far?
Thanks for looking, and C&C always welcome.

Certainly turned out well for all you did wrong, Michele. There is definitely a Prometheus element in this. I like the simple graphic elements and warm color.

Michele, this came out very nice IMO. A very simple open sky image with the small isolated crow works well in this scene. I do not think your post processing was out of the norm by any means as you have mentioned.

This is cool! Sorry to hear about your eyes though. I actually prefer the cloud cropped out, rendering the image in utter simplicity. The bird flying into the sun. Nice as presented, too.

Michele,

I think this turned out great! I'm surprised it didn't get more responses. As to the processing, looks superb to me, I think you worked it very nicely including both the colors and brightness - all rendered quite naturally to my eye. No nits here. The bird flying in to the sun of course really makes it all complete.
