Wild Theme... Rhodora

Rhodora, Rhododrendron canadenses, is the only native rhodie in Nova Scotia. You most generally find it in wet areas like bogs, barrens and wet slopes. In good years (this year wasn't particularly good) it can put on quite a show carpeting banks of rivers and bogs with the most alluring blue/purple glow in low light.

This shot was with a Canon 5d II 90mmT/S 200 iso f6.3 @1/13sec. Some vignetting was applied to tone down bg woods.

I have such a hard time with the dof on these. This looks great...only one oof part of the whole group. Comp, lighting and exposure all spot on!

Bob, Never seen this flower before. Looks lovely with the spiky stamens standing out. I also like how the bunch of leaves mirror the petal formation. Great addition to the theme :toast:

Bob, great isolation of the flowers with just enough green to balance it all. Nice shot.

Bob, very simple and elegant for a "group shot." Outstanding work on the focus and background.
