Theme - Lady's Slippers

I guess this is more of a documentary/environmental shot. I took some close-ups, but I wanted to show the whole bunch of Yellow Lady's Slippers (Cypripedium calceolus) in their habitat. Shot taken in the Shenandoah National Park. All comments/suggestions much appreciated.

What a great bunch. I hope you did take a few mug shots as well. This is much better situation that I found them in. They are truly boisterous blossoms and you show that with this view.

What a great group...and a fine environmental look at this rare flower!

Philip: Wonderful scene that I've never personally witnessed. I can see a lot of tight comps here but I do like seeing the environment. Well done.>=))>

We have had a few blooming in a not so accessible area but they sure are challenge for a close-up in the field. Lovely grouping here, Philip and I like the placement diagonally in the frame as well as the deep greens. Nice addition to the theme :toast:

Nice, but could you have shot from a lower angle? Question not a nit.

Hey John, thanks for the look. As to your question, these were growing on a fairly steep bank. I was essentially horizontal from the group when I took the shot. I probably could have gotten a lower angle; it would have been a bit difficult, although that shouldn't have stopped me. Anyway, I didn't try it.

They're beautiful to see like this Philip. Great color and the bg seems perfect to me. A very fine image.

Nice tight, clean group, Philip, composed well.
I shot some of these about a week ago, and they were on a steep incline, too, but not as well "arranged" as these.
