Arctic Fox cub waking up...

Three months in the Arctic was (and still is) a GREAT experience. Next week I'll be back home again to go through the whole bunch of photographs I took while being there.
This picture was taken around midnight where 7 Arctic Fox cubs were running around me. This little fellow was sleeping the whole time and it was soo incredibly cute to see him/her waking up. I'm not sure about the light part in the background, but there was no way to avoid that with all that ice in the surroundings. The image looks a tad dark on this monitor (on my notebook it looked much better, have to see it on my CRT when I get back). Well another week to go...hope the sun will come through as it has been clouded for weeks now.

Jasper, this a striking image of this litte cuteball. However, I do feel that You have gone overboard with the saturation just a little bit. Very well done!

I really like this photo. Flagged, sent link to my friends. :) And, I think the saturation is just right.

This is really nice Jasper - I like it!

Oversaturated? Perhaps, but it still works for me.

Excellent. I'm envious of your experience - to say nothing of the shot! The light and actin sure came together for you. This is really a nice picture.

Nice way of using the blue BG to offset the pink mouth. DOF is perfect for this image.

What beautiful light you had here and to get a pup to pose for you in it made for a great image. Great seeing the teeth and detail in the mouth.

Jasper, I can't wait to see more of your photos when you come back!! Some of the ones you have shown here are really amazing and just plain GOOD! I very much like this one too. The moment is very well captured. The expression is lovely and I love that curved tongue ;). I can see him when he is finished yawning... opening his eyes to look around to see where he can do some mischief.

I think there's nothing wrong with the background!

Let me know when you get home!!

Wow Jasper, what a fabulous shot! Everything is wonderful in the picture: light, detail, action plus a triple cuteness factor :toast:

Would love to see the rest of your pictures...

I love it Jasper. Saturation looks like Fuji Velvia on my monitor. I used to love shooting it when I used film. This is a great image that I have absolutely no nits about.
