Here's some birds I think you'll know - a pair of Budgerigars looking for accomodation in outback Queensland last year. These birds are nomads of the dry interior of Australia where the come and go following intermittent rains.

Cano 40D, EF500 f/4, tripod, ISO200, 1/500, f/10, ec -1/3, vertical crop from horizontal image.

Exquisite colors and detail Simon. The background is perfect for these guys as well. I wondered about a less centered position for the birds, but I think you made the right call. :toast: :toast:

Very cute and very well done. I have a slight preference for a tiny crop off the left side.

Lovely composition and a picture that should make anyone smile. It's funny to see these in the wild as they are a popular pet here in the states (and I presume elsewhere)

Very cool to have the birds pose this way. In an ideal world, I'd like to see this composed much tighter. but unfortunately I have try to deal with the reality.

Simon:
Are they always in pairs? I love the colors of the birds and the BG and the toe over the rim of the opening. :toast:

Hi Simon,
Really nice image. The position of the birds is very unique and you got good eye contact from both birds. I also like the complimentary background.
Thanks for posting,
Ronnie G.
