Wonderful mountain scape. I guess it took a lot of crampon kicking to get there.... or a helicopter and great pulse for aerials.
Great work, one of the best mountain scenes posted lately.

That is one stunning mountain scene and you know I have no need or desire to see this at sunset or sunrise as for me it is stunning as is. This is one of the most transparently processed images that I have ever seen on NPN.

Good that it's not a sunrise/sunset shot - are we not tired of them? Very well done image with masterly managed light and comp

Awesome!!! I assume you stayed at a hut up there? That's one thing I wanted to do during my trip there but never got a chance to. Anyhow, great scene, great comp.

Neat shot, KK. Does not look like a place I'd want to be walking around!

stunning alpine scenery and the image has a very crisp and clean feel to it. the cracks in the fg add a nice touch to the comp as well.

Scary! But gorgeous as well. I too would be nervous to walk around out there. As for the scene, it's really beautiful. I think the fact that there isn't any spectacular early/late light and color, only speak more to the beauty of the place.

New Zealand is definitely on my trip list before i die. This is a stuning scene Kah Kit, i don´t know if it´s croped but the composition is just perfect for me. Those cracks on the ice are really photogenic. Cheers

been up there, too, but have to confess we did it with a helicopter...
it'll be some time until we will be back in NZ, so I really enjoy seeing fresh pics from there!

Reminds me of a book title, "Hell I Was There" by Elmer Keith.

You were there and I envy your ability to "be there".

The composition is great. The texture is the key to this photo as is the general ambiance.

Good eye and thanks for sharing.

The crevasse structure really does a wonderful job of guiding the eye through this image and although much of the image is very cool toned, the bits of warm rock break up the image well.

Great composition, Kah Kit. What I like most about this is the clarity and definition of those fissures as well as how they lead the eye through the scene.
