Keith, I like this a lot, and I'm having a hard time finding the words to describe what I like. I think the best way I can find to say it is that there is a certain tension in this that I really like. The bird looks like it is holding still nicely for the shot, but I can just feel the pent up energy and am certain he wasn't on that perch one click longer. (Or at least that's how it is whenever I try to get one of these guys--I'm usually one click too late.)

I think that if it was mine the only thing I would change would be to do some NR on the tail and the gray of the lower wing, since there isn't really detail there to lose, and the noise is rather visible.

Brian: Thanks for your comment. You are absolutely correct about how long he was on the perch.... Not long. My usual NR routine it to run noise reduction, then mask the bird so it doesn't affect it. In this case, I should have left the tail out of the mask and let the NR apply. I've gone back to my original and made that change. Thank you for your detailed comment... Great stuff.

Very nice Kieth. The yellows really jump out from the darker background. Excellent image.

The dark background really helps bring out the branch and detail in the bird, well seen and well done.

Beautiful job on the colors and detail, no small feat on this bright yellow warbler. My only little nit pick is that he choose a perch that looks a bit worn.

WOW Keith. Nice job. Glad you went back to the old files to dig this out. Catchlight in the eye, great feather detail, nice head turn, sharp where it needs to be (don't mind the tail being OOF), saturation is spot on, exposure with flash is dead on and the perch and background are puttin this over the top for me. Can you sneak this into my gallery??? Please!!

Keith I love this one. I only wish that there was more DOF. Otherwise it is perfect IMO. :toast:
