Cascade

I keep visiting this fascinating cascade in the French Jura (just downstream from the location of my previous upload) because of its fascinating tufa geology. This time, I thought I'd try a slightly different view.

I set up quite close to the fall and used my longest lens to get right into the action...

Really like it Julian, nice exposure on the water and great dynamism. Great choice of shutter speed.

I like the intimate composition, and the static objects creating a nice anchor for the motion.

This is totally cool! Excellent exposure. I might crop a little of the rhs--i find the extreme urhc mildly distracting. Great shot!

like it alot, Julian! :toast: The texture of the falls and rock within are great, and the bit of context in the bg is just enough. the comp works quite well

I know this place very well .. not so far from my home ( near Geneva ) . I remember the passage to reach this amazing view . I love this place .. Your capture is great , it shows so many colors .. and the exposure time choice is perfect .. not too long . Some really good pictures in your gallery ;)

Excellent exposure of the cascades Julian. The green moss and rocks in the background pool are nice elements.

A lot going on here... from the larger crashing to the delicate flows. You did a great job with the shutter speed. I like the upper half most...the bottom left corner is a bit different w/greater volume and lack of detail...ah...you've spoiled me with so much to feast upon above. Beautiful to see. Ken S

Beautifully done Julian. The angle of view is very interesting and I like how the water is rendered. Also the placement of the subject (waterfall and tufa) in the frame works fine. I guess there's also potential to make some (semi)abstracts of the water as such. Good work!

Incredible image Julian. I am again captivated with your composition, and from such a unique perspective. The rendition of the water flow is perfect, no easy task I have found with Velvia. Stunning work.

Julian,

I really like this tight, intimate view of these falls. For me, it's all in the upper/left two thirds of the image; in other words, the volume of water at the bottom and the URC aren't as appealing to me, but then they don't hurt the image either. the moss and jagged exposure of rock combined with the soft water treatment works beautifully.

This must be a fascinatingly beautiful place.
