This time I was enchanted by the evening lights...It was captured two weeks ago just before 8 pm. The sun was down behind the forest. The bull was illuminated by the smooth light of the sky.

50D
100-400L at 400mm
ISO 400 f/6,3 1/50
-1EV
tripod, IS off
90% of full frame

Every C&C welcome.
Thanks.

Another winner! Can't think of any changes to offer, except maybe cropping off some of the left side. I really like the light on the deer. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Istvan, I like the lighting as well. The pose is solid, the habitat pleasing, and the catchlight a great addition. The only thing that bothers me a little is the absence of some vritual leg space. This probably would not have been an issue for me at all if the hind leg were also hidden behind the bushes though.

Love this image for the great light and the way it is showing part of its habitat...keeping some space at the bottom of the frame would make it more appealing IMO... :toast:

Great shot - I agree with Vincent about the virtual leg space, but that's the only nit from me, and it's a fairly minor one... Nice capture!

Hi István,

A very interesting image! I like the light but to my eye it appears a little too cool to look natural (it almost has an artificial spotlight look to me). So, if the image were mine I'd experiment with warming it up a tad. Otherwise, no nits for me (and the virtual leg thing doesn't bother me here, tho' obviously a few others feel differently).

Cheers...thanks for sharing this...

This is really nice. The late light is great and I like the sense that he is standing at clearings edge still somewhat hidden by vegetation. I agree on the virtual legs but it is not fatal by any means.

Very cool, considering the fading light and the ISO you were able to use.
