A couple hours before sunset the last light of the day paints across the canyon. The effect was subtle due to the cloud coverage and allowing foreground to really open up. Looking for a new location in Zion this little area reminded me of a nice natural garden with golden brown grass, purple flowers, and yucca.

Nice dynamic composition here. The things I like are the contrasting foreground and background layers, moody sky and light on the rocks. Things that I don't like as much are the dead stalks and sharpening technique (if any) for web sizing.

Thanks Mark, I agree with the dead stalks, and this image compressed strangely on the this and looks much better on my computer-not sure what happened.
