Sony A700
Minolta 200mm macro
ISO 200, 1/160 @ f5.6

Got up early yesterday morning to shoot this last day lily bloom of the season for this my favorite variety. This bunch survived our tough winter and even bloomed more prolifically than any previous year. Got a chance to shoot it with a large blanket of phlox in the BG. All comments welcome. >=))>

Very attractive, Bill  . The lemon yellow glow at the center and the background are very complementary. If the Lily could come into the frame at a slight downward angle, it would have been a bit more dynamic, perhaps. Not sure you had options though. Love it as always :toast:

Bill, I love this. The lighting is superb and the phlox backround sets off the subject.

Really like the way the BG sets off the Lily, along with some very nice light. Beautifully seen and presented Bill.

DOF is tricky on this kind of shot, and you got it just right. Nice presentation.

I LOVE the BG on this Bill. The BG along with your comp, and the light, and the color of the bloom all add up to a fantastic image. A real beaut!

Killer color combination and light Bill. There are so many fine images out here, I'm running out of superlatives to use. Beautiful...

This is delicious! Like a big bowl of peach ice cream. I like the large version...it really amps up the textures of the petals. I like the frilly edges......hmmm....undecided if the bottom crop is a plus or minus...take it or leave it...The top crop looks absolutely needed to give us a proper view of that great center. Well done! Ken S

The lighting and color contrast are very well handled. The Phlox made a super BG too!
