Wild Thing #6

Compass plant (I'm pretty certain, anyway - if I'm wrong, please give me correct ID!)

Shot yesterday afternoon in the Flint Hills before a driving rainstorm came through. The diffuse light was just about perfect for wildflower photography so I had a blast.

Canon Rebel XTI, handheld
35-80 mm lens
ISO 400 (I forgot to change it from a previous, more windy shoot  )
F6.3 @ 1/1000

Angela: Nice find and indeed the lighting conditions provided you with a fine opportunity. My only tiny less than 1¢ nit would be to have a tiny bit more room on the right side for the leaf. Really good detail on the main flower and the water drop is a nice plus element. Well done.>=))>

Nice! You were lucky to get this shot from what my family tells me about your rainfall totals lately down there.

Very pretty bloom Angela. I like the water droplet a lot. Nice soft BG to set off the flower.

I like how the yellow seems to grow out of the green. And that water drop, nice.
