I've photographed Mesa arch so many times over the years that I have lost count! This day was especailly zoo like......with a bus load of tourist out there and about 30 photographers lined up.....shoulder to shoulder.....still couldn't resist ripping off a few. I have this with sunbursts and with the sun completely behind the arch......this just felt like sunrise at Mesa arch so I left the bright area in. I purchased Singh Rays stip ND filter many years back.....just for this arch! Moved it up and down slighlty during exposure and the 2 stacked grad ND's. Lot's of filter movement going on!
Canon 1D Mark 3 with the 17-40mm lens at 17mm at f22 for 1.3 sec and ISO 100.

You need to spread your wings and go find another arch, Roman
Seriously, ive only been there once (well, 2 days) but i can understand the allure--its a special place. I like the clouds here and the nice sunrays, every shot is a little different and this is pretty nice. My only nit is the rock seems a bit on the 'gray' side, even the glow on the bottom seems pretty subdued here--could just be the conditions. :wavey:

Haven't seen any of your other posts and I rarely shoot landscapes but this looks great to me. I suppose the stone could be brighter but I suspect that when I'm not seeing it via a safari browser, it is. Love the comp, the sky, the glow on the underside of the arch and the light. I like the image a lot.

I don't tire of this scene. You have captured it well.

The sky is nice, but even the bottom half would make a great pano by its self. Love the placement of those sun-washed buttes.

Roman,

Great take on this overly popular icon. I've never been myself so I'm probably jaded in the colors and glow we've come to see from this spot. I have no idea which is closer to what you would see, but as Stan eluded to, I'm thinking you have some latitude with the color and the glow if you so chose.

Great sky and clouds btw and well captured.

The hazy conditions really created some incredible light for this shot. I don't know, but I think I like this even more without the sky. Either way, this is splendid.

Thanks all! Stan and Lon.....file that one under better safe than sorry!!! I did tone it down! It is actually better in Dec, Jan, Feb,.......but I took the safe approach with this iconic place! Easy fix if I go that way!!!
Thanks again and glad to see I wasn't heavy handed!!!
