This is a view of the Mont-Blanc mountain ( 4800 m ) , just above Chamonix . France .

This is a classic view in the area .. too many people visit this place in summer .. . I have tried something different , including the milky way and the visible stars ... It was a really clear september night.

Beautiful! What's the light source there? It works perfectly to have the mountain illuminated!

Hello marc !

The light is coming from "chamonix" , ..the town underneath the mountains .. Here I am placed in the "massif des aiguilles rouges" , on the other side .. at 2200 m . I admit the "city light source" can reduce the part of dream .. and "wilderness" here .... on the other hand , it helps the composition of the image here !

Gorgeous Alexandre! Really beautiful. It looks a bit noisy though, something which I am sure you can improve through processing/ selective noise reduction. I have just printed a star image shot at ISO4000 with a 5D2 at 24x36" and it looks incredible!

Wonderful dreamy scene. I like the lighting from the city.
I might do something with the lines from the airplanes lights.
Would love to have this in my portfolio!!

For me...this is your best shot so far! although the last couple before this one have been very good too - its a beautiful and stunning capture of a well photographed area. Agree about the noise reduction but possibly only in the water reflection. Great shot!

Beauty. Love that sky and the light on the mountain. The reflection adds some extra drama. Very nice.

Lovely nightscape, and yes the light works fantastically here! The stars are quite a bit oversharpened for my tastes though.

Beautiful mountains, Alexandre, made even more so with the selective light and reflection you've captured. The noise doesn't detract much at this size, but may need some work before printing large. Very nice work.

Alexandre,

Beautiful starry-night landscape image. The light hitting the mountains from Chamonix makes this one pretty unique, although it looks like not all the light hitting the mountain tops are city lights - almost like moonlight as well, or simply scattered light from the horizon during the long exposure. No matter, this is great work.

Hey Alex, this is an awesome starry sky and landscape, especially with the milky way. I thought perhaps there was a full moon, but I'm amazed the town lights can achieve such beautiful illumination. excellent work!

It's a bit oversharpened for my tastes as well, but the placement of the milky way is just perfect. And the light on the mountain is very nice.
