Zion Narrows Classic

Hiked the Zion Narrows June 21 for the first time - what an experience. Got going a little late so the sun was high early in the hike & had to selectively frame shots like this one to avoid the harsh light.

Canon 5DII 16-35mm @ 19mm, Polarizer, F22, 2.5 sec, ISO 250

Nicely captured. Only nit would be the small bright green spot on the center left edge of the frame...my eye was immediately drawn there...very easy to crop out. Good work.

Beautiful...I know this place well. The water was still too high when I was there in May of this year. I can vouch 100% for the beauty of this amazing place. Wonderful image!

Perfectly done ('cept for that one leaf on the left). I like the controlled highlights on the top of the rocks. Those can be so hard sometimes.

Wick,

Beautiful image from the Narrows! I really like the balance of elements here from the foreground, flow of water to the massive walls and finishing with a lovely grouping of trees - and green to compliment the scene. Now I wasn't there so I don't know your options or constraints, but I sure would like to see more rocky, water-flowing foreground... but I can live with this.

Yep, clone that little piece of green and call this one good!

The bright light just outside the frame generates a really pleasing reflection on the foreground rocks (mostly from the middle to the left). Colors seem a lot cleaner on the left half of the image as well, so I wonder if there was a sort of natural color cast going on. Pulling some magenta out of the upper right portion would help the whole image work together I think.

Those trees make this image so different. Marvelous shot Wick.
