Sun pillar at dawn
by Francesco Ferreri
Dear all,
it's been a while since I last posted here, here's a shot from earlier this spring: it was quite a cold dawn and I was caught by this sun pillar preceding the rise of the sun above the horizon. I had a hard time scanning this slide, cause the dark parts are really dense and the pillar is quite subtle, moreover the scanner tends to introduce halos around the edge between dark mountains and clearer sky :-(
Maybe it's way too flat, but I hope it conveys some of the magic of that cold morning. Your comments and critiques are welcome!

4 commentsI think that is a fascinating phenomena. It comes through very clearly in this photo. Thanks for sharing.
Fascinating, natural phenomena - captured beautifully. Great color gradient, great clouds. No nits or suggestions. Well done.
