Vermillion Sunrise #4

My favorite picture I have done at the first Vermillion Lakes so far I shot this yesterday morning, after a storm came in. I saw the opportunity for a decent sunrise so I hurried and biked out to the Lakes, the clouds were low and the lake was calm providing for a great reflection.. it was very clear where the sun was coming up so it lit the clouds up in all kinds of pinks, reds, magenta's and oranges...

shot with a Canon 40d, blended exposures, ISO 100, 27mm

Stunning image! Really captures the beauty and tranquility of this lake. The low hanging clouds really put this over the top.

What a great mood. The composition is solid and works very well. Overall the web presentation still feels a little soft and you could still look into some more precise web sharpening techniques. But aside from that - great capture, Simon.

Gorgeous work. You captured some excellent color and wonderful conditions with the low clouds cruising in front of Rundle. You're lucky to live nearby . . .

Great cloud cover around that peak. The foreground doesn't hold my interest as much, but the reflection is really good.

Great shot, Simon. So moody. Some might say it's a bit on the dark side, but I really like it.

I've seen a lot of Vermillion Lakes images here but this ranks as one of the best.
