Glory Tree

A couple questions with this one. 1) Could the trees on the left be cropped out a bit? 2) Did I get the sun too close to the bottom?

I'll make this disclosure about the image. I did take 3-4 other images and use the rays from them to enhance the mood. I'm sure some will frown on this.

Any nits welcome.

I have no problem with a bit of artistic license - it's not a documentary shot; but thanks for the disclosure. To answer your 2 questions, my opinion is yes, and yes. In fact I would consider cropping into a vertical 2:3, with the sun in the lower left corner.

The sun is a bit close to the bottom IMO. Some cropping wouldn't hurt, but I don't mind the left side as-is.

Very pretty Ron, and excellent for B&W. My only nit (very minor) is that I might crop a little tighter to the tree on the right side.

Works well for me, Ron. You can try some cropping anyway - there are enough options here.

Very dramatic the only thing I would do is crop from the left side.

Ron,

The composite doesn't bother me and thanks for disclosing. It's really no different than a night/star image with multiple exposures from the same camera location, but over a period of time. Anyway, the rays of light are very dynamic and this is a terrific image. I like this as presented, but I also think a crop off the left would actually increase the dynamic nature of this scene. Great work with this.

Feels sort of Adamusesque to me. Very dramatic presentation. Blends are so common now that using them to enhance the photo is part of the creativity of photography. I could see cropping a bit from the left.

Don't think anyone will have a problem with compositing. Agree the sun is too close to the bottom but it's an excellent shot nonetheless.
