This is the view of Banff and the Bow Valley from the top of Sulpher mountain, a very touristy mountain that even a newborn baby can get to the top of with the access of a gondola, being the avid hiker I choose to take the 2 hour hike up.

Simon,

Certainly a most wonderful viewpoint - Is that Lake Louise in the far background? Although the sharpness is a little soft, I have no real nitpicks with the image technically or with the grand composition. However, I'm going to go ahead and move this to the Man & Nature Gallery. Although individual buildings are tough to recognize at this distance, clearly this is a nice aerial view of Banff as you have called out in your description. No big deal, but I do hope you understand the image being moved. If you have any questions, please send one of the moderators a note. Thanks!

ahh no worries I didnt really think about that! Man & Nature it is...that lake in the back is Lake Minniwanka, right behind Cascade Mountain.

Thanks Lon

Did that hike a few years ago. Nice easy climb and spectacular views along the way. Looks like you have done a nice job of capturing one.

I never quite got to see this view given how touristy it seemed at the time when I visited Banff. It certainly gives a great view of the surrounding region's topography. The dappled light and clouds certainly made the hike worthwhile.
