Squires Sunset

I ran out of the water during my evening swim to capture this. I'm just dipping my toes into ESS and haven't really done a sunset/cloud image so any and all advice is welcome - particularly if the thing tree line holds value. There was a house and people below that area so I couldn't include anymore of the tree tops but thought it gave it some placement.

The sky is awesome--love the cloud layers and you got perfect exposure. Id do away with the trees. I think this might have been stronger with some more context (more fg, even if that means houses and people  ) As a cloud abstract, its real nice and as a weather geek i appreciate it, but you probably want to reach more than just weather geeks!

Beautiful sky! The bottom doesn't do much for me and I would suggest cropping out the trees.

Fantastic sky Luke! I can appreciate your predicament with wanting to exclude some stuff in the frame which led to the little amount of base to the image. I think the treeline works pretty well although it's right in that "tweaner" stage where either I want a bit more for the bottom, or none at all. Regardless, you've still captured a wonderful sky and certainly worth interrupting your swim...

Luke, I think it needs a base, so the treed hillside doesn't bother me so much. You picked up some real nice color and texture in the clouds. Beautiful shot.
