Like a kid on Christmas morning, I just took delivery of my new 105mm Micro Nikkor, slapped it on my D90 and had to find something to put the toy use on.

As luck would have it, the butterfly garden I planted in the yard, solely for the purpose of this very minute (don't tell my daughters, they think its for them) was being visited by a beautiful Eastern Tiger Swallowtail (Papilio glaucus). She proved to be a relatively patient subject as I tinkered with the settings and found just the right place on the ground to put the lens to the test.

I think I like this lens. I hope you enjoy it as much as I'm enjoying my new toy.

I love my 105, and I'm certain you'll get a lot of excellent images with yours.
I like the colors herethe sharp eye, and that antennae.
Have fun!

Eric,
Excellent control of the plane of focus, especially for f/5. I like the comp. Congrats on the new lens -- have lots of fun with it.

Eric:
I have a 105mm and it is practically stuck on my D90 until I got the 300F4. Still love the macro lens and I am sure you will have loads of fun with it. Good detail here with HH.
