Smoky Mountains

My first trip to Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park had me in awe. This is one of the primary spots in the park to capture the morning mist through the cove. Three subsequent trips to the park this summer yielded less than stellar lighting conditions, so I am happy to have been able to witness this beautiful morning. Enjoy and thanks for looking.

Beautiful work for my tastes Eric. I like the layers in the composition and the mood created by the fog and morning light. Makes me want to see this part of the country. No suggestions.

The oversharpening is battling against the soft morning mood and atmosphere, but the colors and layers are great. A panoramic format might also be good.

Eric, what a beautiful scene you captured
the misty area looks great here
I would suggest reducing the upper space a little bit

Thank you :wavey:

Hey, I know exactly were you were standing! Very nice and pleasing image and I like the way you held the color to a perfect natural level. The Cove is a wonderful place if you can deal with the idiots that block the roads and create jams!

I like ther brightness of this scene. It reminds me of many mornings watching the fog burn off the landscape. Nice composition, and it would look just as good with the dark shadow in the cultivated field on the bottom cropped off. Either way, it's a pleasure to see.

Very pleasant scene with good light. I particularly like how the mountains in back seem to be floating.

Absolutely gorgeous layers here. I might crop a little sky. You could also put a few deer into the foreground  Really a beautiful image in all regards as it is though.
