Red Rock Lake

Here's another image from my morning at Red Rock Lake. If I shot this with 4x5 or a TSE lens, I could have avoided the converging lines of the trees. I tried using PSs skew tool to fix them but it made the top so small that I had to crop some of the sides and didn't like the resulting composition as much as the full frame version.

Your opinions are appreciated.

- Dan.

Ha, I need to refresh my browser more often. This just popped up after my post.
That is such sweet light laying across the lake and trees in the background! The comp is excellent, and the rock in the shot is of course why they call it, "Red Rock Lake." Marvelous work, Dan.

Reflection is gorgeous Dan but I think I am liking the subtle light on the background forest more.

Beautiful greens Dan. The clouds, the rock, everything fits together quite nicely. Trees really don't bother me. Nice work.

of course, the limitations of working without the flexibility of a LF system! but it is not so noticeable here dan and the composition is, again, spot on.

Beautiful shot, I like the almost upside-down composition here with the sky at the bottom.

This is certainly a peaceful setting Dan. Great warm morning light illuminating the waterlillies and distant pines. Lovely fg and reflection. No nits here, well captured.

I like the concept, like I did your last image. Bottom feels a bit truncated.

Dan,

The image is wonderfully crisp and clean. I love that reflection in the FG and the light on those trees is magical. I can notice the converging lines, but its not so bad that it ruins the image for me. Perhaps at a larger size it is more prominent but as it is here, its not a problem.

I like the placement of the cloud (as well as the rest of the image).

Lovely lush and inviting scene Dan. You made good use of that reflection. Two very, very small nits; the tiny sliver of blue sky at the top catches my eye as well as the small but very white bright tree trunk in the distant woods. Easy fixes.

I love the reflection of the clouds and the and the overall sharpness from front to back. Great position of the rock and how it compliments the RFC. Very nice indeed Dan. :toast:

Very, very good comp. Its strength IMO. Beautiful scene.

Now I wonder how good it could be in phenomenal light...

Another strong image from this location. Although I liked the harmony found in the previous post a bit more. The top and bottom of this image don't quite have the same connection as the last one. That's being very nit picky in regards to a very nice image.

Very nice! Id crop/clone out the lone grass blades at bottom--otherwise looks great!

The reflection is beautifully framed by the grasses (but as someone suggested, maybe clone out the tiny blade of grass between the two main bunches) and I love the colors and light on the pines.

I don't believe the convergence, or what there is of it, spoils the image Dan. Looks like one of those places where many pictures and compositions would be possible.
