Sawback No. 1

An ox-eye daisy against the backdrop of a burned tree trunk. I captured this in the "Sawback" area of Banff National Park during a recent family vacation that allowed a bit of time for some photography. I've got a few others from this part of the park that I plan to post in coming weeks. In the meantime, I appreciate your comments and critiques of this one.

Canon 5DMkII, Tamrom 90mm, f/6.3 for 1/100 (ISO 400).

Phil: Well seen. I was wondering about the BG; it is the perfect complement. Superb DOF control and center details. 2 thumbs up. >=))>

Beautiful image Phil. No nits from me. The detail is excellent, as is the subject/ground separation. Also the intense yellow against the complementary blue bg is very appealing.

Love the contrast here. A gorgeous daisy and the blue reflected on the burned trunk is a wonderful backdrop! Excellent dof as well. :toast:

The flower is beautifully captured of course but the BG is also very appealing with the dreamy dark blue look.

Phil,

Count me in with all those who love the background! I think it's wonderful and really helps set off this lovely daisy. I think the bg even makes the off-center comp feel real comfortable - if that makes sense. Good eye and capture.
