Punk Flower

Nikon D300, Nikkor 70-200 2.8 @200mm. F/8, 1/20, ISO 200.

This monarda "cambridge scarlet" reminds me of a punk and his haircut. The petals look so unruly, be careful on how you comment on this punk, uh flower. Comments appreciated.

Albert: Aptly titled  . These are unruly flowers and difficult to capture attractively but you've done it justice. Nice work. >=))>

Love this Albert. Reminds me of one the Muppet characters - I don't remember the name. Interesting subject, excellent bg separation. I like it as posted. As a comment, if you were to stack with this, you could have continued to shoot at F/8 or less and moved your plane of focus through the flower while keeping the excellent soft bg. Would have allowed you to get the entire flower sharp, assuming there wasn't too much wind to deal with. Neat post.

Outstanding portrait of a monarda, Albert! Great control of the reds and the green leaves and background are a great compliment. :toast:

Cool shot Albert, I tried shooting these a few times, they are difficult, but you did a great job with it. Well done.

Albert:
The petals are so sharp I would be afraid to get closer. Good capture and appropriate title.

Love the title, very fitting! Great BG choice as it makes those reds pop. I like it as is.
