A long time I do not post anything... Here comes Lake Trebecchi, in the upper part of Nivolet plain at about 2700 m asl, in the Gran Paradiso National Park, northwestern Italy. The image was taken in September 2009, with a Nikon D3 and 24-70/2.8 AFS at 35 mm, ISO 200, 1/200, f/8. looking forward a new season of alpine lake shots...

This is really something, Antonello! The clarity of the blues and the range of yellows of the grasses and mountain faces go so well together.
And the tuft of white flowers is wonderful, this picture really does justice to the beauty of this place!
Never been able to pull something good out of this place, everytime I was there it was either raining, or overcast, or a strong wind was blowing - ruining the reflections - or... Fortunately enough, Lake Rosset was a bit better (see attach)

PS: ma pensa te! Un torinese fotografo nonché montanaro, e per trovarci dobbiamo postare su un forum oltre oceano!!?? Ma, e andare a fare una fotografata insieme una volta?

Thanks for the comments, Arnab and Paolo ! And nice image of Lake Rosset, I especially like the group of Gran Paradiso on the background... But of the whole group of lakes, the one I like best is the Leynir, a little higher than the Trebecchi.
And yes Paolo, I would be very happy of going hiking and photographing together, I saw many of your pictures here on NPN and always found them very interesting. And yes again, it is funny that two montanari torinesi meet thanks to an oversea foum...
Tomorrow I go for a hike (and for taking some measurements) to lake Leynir, and I shall go there again in September, we should organise an excursion then...

Beautiful view Antonello. Its nice that you were able to catch some great clouds over the mountains for the added interest.

Very nice! I like the panoramic format and the reflection. It may be a tad overpolarized to my taste.

The pano view is an excellent way to portray this scene. The blue in the water is sure lovely.

Wow, 2 GP shots on the same page. This is daytime mountain scenery at its most beautiful. My only reservation is the bit of rock on the right edge.

Those two flowers in the second shot just top it all off. Both lovely shots.

I know that blue is what mid-day light is all about, but I wouldn't mind seeing it toned down at least a little bit here. I like the rippled reflection here more than if it had been crystal clear.
