An Orchid of the Amazon Rain Forest, found at the ACA's Amazon Biological Research Station in Southern Peru. Thank you for looking - all comments and suggestions are more than welcome.

Does anyone know an Orchid specialist that might be able to identify this orchid (even to genus?)

Lindsay, I can't help with the ID.

I do like the colors of the Orchid.

I find the sharp angle cutoff of what I assume is the stem to be very distracting. I would also suggest a different format to show off the Orchid. Possibly vertical framing?

You can post larger formats when you make your initial posting. The longest side can be 1200 pixels and the size 500 kb.

Ciao ;^)

Lindsay, what an interesting looking specimen. I do wish it was a bit larger (per Carol's comment) and more DOF to bring the top in focus.

Lindsay: I find it hard to properly critique images this small but it does look like the top petal is a bit OOF. Colors are great as is the subject. She hasn't posted here in quite a while but Maureen Pulignano is an orchid expert par excellence. You might try the e-mail link to her. >=))>
