Nikon D300, 50mm F/2.8, 1/500, ISO 200.
Abstract version of an anther and stigma from a lilium stargazer. Comments appreciated.

Albert,
I'm not really connecting with this. I like the concept but I'm not sure it wouldn't be more effective without the stigma and style. It breaks up the pattern in the lines of the explosion for me but isn't placed in a strong enough position in the image to really act as the subject. May just be me. See what the others think.

Albert:
I knew you would not be able to resist using your 50mm for too long. Lovely soft silky image. I like your concept here but like Pat, my eyes seem to be wandering around the image and drawn from one anther to the next but not resting on the stigma. It may work if the stigma is a bit crispier.

I like this kind of floral abstract. The softness and pastel colors are a nice combination.
I agree that the stigma could be sharper.

Albert, I think the image might have worked better if the stigma had been in focus.
My initial reaction is this is not up to your par and perhaps that's because you're experimenting with a new lens.
Cheers,

Albert: Put the stigma in the lower left power point and this becomes instantly stronger IMO. I'm barely OK with the sharpness but a bit more would help. >=))>
