Albert,

This is just a touch dark for my tastes (I know. Hard to believe I said that.) but other than that I like it very much. I had thought about cloning out the small shoot but then realized that it adds a sense of depth to the image and changed my mind. Strong composition. Excellent dof decision. Beautiful work.

Albert:
Great abstract! The sharp edge of the petal is a good place to rest ones eyes. Well done.

The color and the form work, Albert. Only thing I would suggest would be to eliminate the OOF purplish haze just to the left of the flower. If the double exposure is to get the small flower in on the right, I really like that.

What kind of extension tubes did you buy? Something I've been contemplating.

Cheers,

Carol

Carol: Hope you don't mind me popping in here. I have a set of Kenko tubes that are well made and less expensive than camera manufacturer models. No optics on them so all you need is a good solid metering link and the Kenkos deliver. . . Bill

Nice one, Albert. The small stem serves as an appropriate anchor for the subject.

Beautiful, Albert. Like that purple mist all around and the selective focus on the edge :toast:

Hi Carol :wavey: I have the Kenko kit . with three Ext tubes. I think you can buy single tubes from nikon. Beware that your DOF becomes very limited, and a tripod is mandatory.

Looks great, Albert. Love the gradations of purple with violet accents and the soft hazy blend into the bg green. Can't make up my mind about the little stem on the right. It's size and shape are a nice contrast to the flower. It seems to fit in better the more I look at the image. How about a slight crop off the top? Super as is, too.

I like the diagonal placement of the main features here, and the little stem really adds a lot. Colors are very appealing too. Very nice work.

Beautifully captured, Albert ! The opening petals are swathed in soft colours - and your dof has produced a perfect effect. Not 100% sure about the thin shoot but maybe Pat is right.
