I really like the silhoutte and the intense orange glow. I am, however, bothered by the "ghosting" on the left side around the trunk of the lead elephant. My guess is it's caused by the sunlight hitting the trunk and rays of light streaking past it but I find it distracting.

I just want a sunset like this when I head down to SA for the next couple weeks. Tanzania was not very cooperative in terms of "good light."

I think my favorite aspect of the image is the clean textures. Even the grass seems soft and faded, which works well with the gold sky and the silhouettes.

Thanks guys. Luke I was waiting for a remark about the 'ghosting' effect, knowing that some might be bothered by it. Personally I think that is what makes the image! Without it this would simply be to dull for me. I am looking forward to some more opinions. :argue:

I have looked at this image a couple of times now and I think I enjoy it more even than when I first viewed it. I appreciate these images and I am very fond of this type of composition, lighting and subject. But I also really enjoy the almost 'spirit-like' quality of the image especially into the facing direction of the elephants. It feels like there could be a multitude of vibrant stories to highlight this image. Sorry, long winded comment, but overall....I thinks it is stellar. Well done Vincent. :toast:

I l ike the lighting on this. And I like the ghosting of the lead elephant's trunk. But it took me a long time to realize that the trunk of the 2nd elephant is resting on the back of the first. Since it's a silhouette I wish the two elephants were separated.

I really like the light, especially on the grasses. I wish I could see just a bit of detail in the elephants.

The ghosting works here very well. This silhoutte appeared to have lot of potential. In a scene like this, I would have preferred lower intensity of sun (of course, you couldn't do anything about it), so that the given pose was more visible, I meant the trunk on the back. Or I would have preferred more seperation between the two.

I'd like to see whats going on, and the silohuette prevents that. I assume the one on the right has his trunk on the back of the other. Other than that, beautiful.

Sorry if i was not clear on my earlier comment,

the light is great (on the front trunk in particular), but

"The trunk on the back" is why this image is special to me.
