Mt Rainier-Ohanapekosh

Taken from a footbridge crossing the Ohanapekosh River along the Deer Creek trail in early June. It rained hard all morning and opportunities were scarce and risky. As I was coming out the weather broke and I was able to grab a few shots before the light became harsh. This was my first outing with the new Sigma 24-70. Comments always welcome, thanks for looking. Larger Version included.

Hi Bruce,

Really beautiful image. I could see selectively adjusting the contrast in some areas of the water (rocks at the top of the falls and the fg), but overall, I'd have to say this is probably my favorite image of yours. Great shutter speed and the processing looks solid. Excellent work! Congrats :toast:

Bruce,

This looks very nice and looks great as a head-on image of these falls. Now this is just an opinion, but I would consider a crop of some of the water at the bottom. Normally, I like flow and the lead-in characteristics of a composition like this, but in this case there is so much more to view and enjoy above that I think removing some of the water below allows the eye to remain in the central and upper part of the frame; also make the rocks and mosses gather a bit more attention too.

Still, this is an excellent capture as presented.

This one kind of tripped me out for a minute. I suppose it's the style of comp you chose, which gives a totally different view than what you would expect. Still, I like it, very cool.

This really makes me wish I could see this place. I can almost hear the roar of the falls. Excellent shot.

I definitely like the scene, especially the middle ground with the great textures in the rock and water. I could see the crop Lon mentions helping the scene.
