Spray Park Mt Rainier

Spray Park - a fair year for wildflowers. Time is short, esp w/warming trend. Tarns and snow fields are drying quickly. Shot this last night, credit for the composition goes to hiking buddy and photographer Steve Lepenske...he is a long-time outdoor/wildlife photographer...lurking here often...Steve's version w/full-frame 5D11 looked super...one day he will join NPN. Sky was a bit boring...but nice foreground flowers. A real show to the west as fog rolled in amidst setting sun.

Ken,

This is a beautiful and tranquil image. Of course the reflection is wonderful and it looks like it's that reflection that really dictated your foreground. In other words, To include more of either the purple or yellow would require moving left or right, thus changing the reflection. But actually, this works quite well with the little gap in the flowers allowing the eye to move in to the scene.

Beautiful warm light on the mountain. I'd say job well done.

Nice shot Ken. The fg flowers and reflection are excellent. I'm going to try to get up there next weekend. I hope things are still looking good.

Beautiful combination with the light on the mountain, the reflection and the foreground flowers.

You already pointed out the sky, my only nit, but I'd rather see it as it was then pumped up Ken. Beautiful image, congrats!!

Lovely Ken! The light on the mountain is great. I'd prefer to see the shooting stars not cut off, but it's a minor nit and I realize it may not have been an option.

Classic beauty. Nicely managed light too as the foreground, mountain, and sky all have great exposure.

Great shot, minor thought, I'm not sure if I like the little flowers touching the reflection. Looks like an awesome location.

Beautiful. I also like this cropped just above the reflection. The flowers and reflection are what this image is all about, IMO.

What a beautiful shot that is Ken. The comp, colours and reflection are bang on! As far as the sky goes...it is what it is. Sometimes there just isn't anything going on but the image was still well worth the time to set up and take. Thanks for posting this one. :toast:
