Perfect biological documentation of what these birds do best AND it's a nice photo to boot. Great DOF and I love the shadows on the bird.
On a more technical level, it looks a touch crooked (in need of a CCW rotation) and there is unexpected softness on the left side of the bird where the feathers (tail, rump and far wing) meet the water which I'd attribute to improper masking.

Eric, I really like the almost perfect circle formed by the curved wings and their reflection. Nice capture of this interesting behavior. Agree with Luke about the rotation.

A very very rare combination of a stunning image which also perfectly describes interesting behavior. I cant stop looking at the almost perfect circle formed by the bird and its reflection.

Sweet pose here Erik. Love the symetry of the wings and wing reflections. Overall a great comp. Just a bit more eye contact would have made this stronger, but still really nice.

Eric,
Love the umbrella pose, reflection and the glassy surface the water had when this was created. There is a bit of noise evident in the shadowed areas of the egret, I am not seeing the noise on the well lit parts of the bird. If you did lighten the shadowed areas, I might back off a little bit on that.
Details look great on the well lit plumage.
