David, Lovely, lovely work. The colors are beautiful and I like your DOF too. You might want to consider turning this into a vertical by cropping about an inch from the right and an inch and a half, give or take, from the left. This would place your wonderful sunflower just to the left of center and it would eliminate most of the white cloud from the sky, leaving just the haze. I think this would place even more emphasis on your subject. Well done.

Cheers,

Carol

Great idea for a crop from Carol but I do like this version also. These grow real wild and a proper isolation can be tough but you pulled it off real well by selecting one that is different in height. Blue sky with pinkish hues strengthen the photo

I like the elements as is. Cropping decisions can be very subjective and I think the previous suggestions have merit as well. I really like the way you have made the central bloom stand out from the rest.

David: I probably shoot 75-80% of my shots vertically but here I think the horizontal is the right choice. I like how the main subject stands apart and the hint of clouds is a plus element for me that I would not like to see cropped. I also like the light on the main flower. A touch of fill perhaps? Very nicely done.>=))>

I like this very much as posted David. Looks like we're meeting an emissary. I particularly like the light and it's influence on the cloud and bg sunflowers, so in this case I prefer the horizontal in that I wouldn't want to lose those elements. I think the crop/aspect ratio decision depends on what you like in the image. Beautiful image.
