Dew Catcher

Nothing fancy here except the creative efforts from a spider and some morning dew. I was out at the local wildlife refuge yesterday early scouting for and shooting birds when this jeweled web caught my eye. I had the big lens on for birding and like how this turned out.

Thanks for looking, larger version available

Wow this is gorgeous - especially taken at such an extreme focal length - impressive.

Great image by you. Great crochet job by the spider. I like the blueness in the web.

I like how it turned out too Craig. Love the image. I realize it ruins the realism of the shot but it would be hard for me to resist cloning out the anchoring web strands that go out of frame at the bottom. Great capture and very fine photography for my tastes.

Fantastic structure, the dew and bkgd really make the web stand out.

Hi Craig, I'm sure you'll hear the word, "awesome," quite a bit with this image. Even the thumbnail caught my eye.

A fine capture. I hope you were able to capture views from other angles as well. A minor nit is that my eye wants to travel down the stalk to see how the web is attached at the bottom. But I see no way to do anything about that. Guess I'll just have to climb into the photo.

Cheers,

Carol

I've seen alot of spider web shots but this one stands out because of the warm/cool contrast between the web and the "grass". Terrific BG also.

Wonderful post Craig... The spider was surely not the only creative one there that morning. Super job.

Craig, You used that bazooka with TC for this shot   . Awesome. I find it tough to focus webs with a macro lens and here you do this with a long lens. Spectacular :toast: .

Craig:
A terrific shot and comp. I have tried doing this previously and know how even the slightest breeze would ruin the image. - an you did this with the big gun! :toast:
