I've not grown tired of shooting these guy's. This is cropped a little over 50% of the original to eliminate the tail sticking out of the other side of the willow branch he/she is looking around.

Canon 50D Canon 400 2.8 w/1.4 ex 1/50th @ f7.1 iso 100

Thanks for looking.
Comments always welcome and appreciated.

This is unusual and I like it a lot Neil. Good job getting focus on the head. In this case I'm glad you didn't have the DOF to get the tree sharp. I think the contrasting sharpness makes the owl's head stand out from the tree even better. You're getting closer to these guys - you must be spending lots of time with them.

Neil - this is great.
Love the peeking pose and bright eyes, along with a perfect DOF to isolate the bird from the FG and BG.

That would be great for the 31st anniversary of my 29th BD, Rich.

Excellent, Neil. I love the peek-a-boo pose. The exposure and focus look spot on, and the dof works perfectly. :toast:

Neil I love the different approach to this image, but I would try and clone out that spiked piece of wood that is in front of the forehead.

Hi Neil,
Nice peek around the tree view on this one. Details look good. I wish both eyes were totally in view.
