From the "light box diaries". This lily had just come through a rain and was looking to dry off in the morning light.

Gorgeous light, color, and detail. There are some nondescript "highlites" in the bottom 1/4 of the dark BG that I can't identify (maybe it's my lousy monitor)and which I find a little distracting....might be worth cloning out.....I can see the stem and would leave that.

Bob, I think this is absolutely gorgeous. Not sure the raindrops add anything to the image. I'm talking about the splotches below the flower. I would also add of canvas to both sides of the image.
I think this is terrific.
Ciao ;^)

PS Repost is even better and I concur with Gary's comment that a bit more canvas is needed on the bottom.
I hope you print it. Nice work.

Wonderfully done and displayed Bob. The lighting and sharpness do this for me. Super! :

Love the color Bob and I personally like the raindrops. I suppose I might add a touch of canvas to the viewer's left. There is something in the lower part of the image that is part of the stem and should be a touch brighter or should be cloned out. I can't tell for sure what I'm seeing. A couple of easily corrected nits aside this is gorgeous.

Agree with observations already made. The flower by itself is really lovely and your work has brought out the beauty in a pretty striking way, Bob . Yet to see a Lily in this beautiful color combination.

Bob: The color and clarity of the flower is so superb that I'm not sure even the stem adds anything. You might keep it but I do think I would make the leaf below the flower go away. Striking portrait of a striking subject. >=))>

Based on feedback (thanks for the constructive criticism) I reworked the image a little.
I tried it with and without the stem and leaves but feel there is more balance if the stem and part of one leave remains.

Bob:
Simply gorgeous. The re-work looks great but can probably be enhanced with more canvas along the lower edge - not a suggestion by just personal taste really.

The repost definitely works much better for me, Bob - turns this into a first rate image, superbly lit.
