The water under the falls slowly spins to create this pattern. C&C are welcome.

I love this effect and the two pools working together makes this quite a unique shot.

I'm just waiting to come across a set of falls that does this. Great work.

This is really cool John. I love the double swirls. The small waterfall really helps to balance out the scene.

Agreed, the double spiral is neat. I like the contrast in lighting too.

excellent patterns and well composed. i find the vignetting a little strong and wonder about the relative absence of colour.

John, what a unique image. The lighting adds to the mystery. Very well conceived idea. Best Regards.

Great composition John. I like the double swirls with the waterfall to anchor this. Reminds me I need to stop by Matthiessen Park next time I'm up there.

John,

Welcome to NPN and the ES&S Gallery! A terrific first post and excellent rendition of the classic leaf swirl capture. This is a little dark around the edges, but whether natural or induced, I like this vignetting effect. I like the extra bonus and interaction of the smaller swirl at the base of the falls. This is lovely image. Well done.

Welcome aboard. We look forward to more images and your participation.

Thanks for all the comments. You guys are such a fun group of people. I am sure I will learn a lot from you.

Vignetting was done in ps. Might be a little over done.

I love the swirling water pools but the background doesn't quite measure up. I'd crop at the top to just below the top waterfall and then try to bring out more detail at the upper right. Lot's to work with here, though.
