Reflection

This is a lake just outside Jasper, Alberta in Jasper National Park. We missed our trail head and ended up at the lake. The morning was beautiful and so was the lake. I forgot to check my ISO or I would have lowered to 100.

Canon 30D
Sigma 17-70
Shutter 1/750
Aperture f19
ISO 640

Very pretty scene and nice reflection!
Nice comp - the rocks in the lower left add interst.
The snow seems just a bit "dull" so I might suggest lassoing it and brigtening a bit and possibly adding a bit more sharpening overall..

Looks like missing the trailhead turned out all right, Richard. The reflection is the mirror image of the surrounding landscape. My only suggestions would be a boost in contrast as the scene looks a little flat and cloning out the little dust bunny in the sky.

I like the comp and the reflection is very good. I agree about a touch of brightening overall, but this is a nice shot.

Richard,

This is a very nice "reflectionscape." I like the natural colors and the mirrored reflection. I'm torn about the inclusion of the foreground; it's one of those things where I either want to see more, or none at all. A matter of personal taste of course, but I think you have some room here to play around with contrast a bit and make this pop a little more - but it's a matter of opinion and not a nitpick.
