I took this picture two years ago during a photographic journey in the region of Extremadura ( Spain ). In that area, a popular destination for birdwatchers and photographers, it's not unusual, driving along country roads, to see over rocks, posts or walls confident birds as in this case.
Canon 350D, Sigma 50-500 at 500, ISO 400, F8, 1/1600, from car window.
PS CS2, medium crop, routine sharpening.

Very interesting, I like the sense that this bird is up high on a cliff. The pose, detail, bug in mouth and background look good, well done.

A very nice image Giorgio, great background and texture on the lichen covered rock, the prey is in the bill and the raised crest are wonderful. Nice eye contact and I like the alert pose of the lark.

I like the unusual colors in the rock and repeated in the background. Fine pose and prey in the beak is a nice bonus.
