Craig, the rich reds augmented by bits of yellow are very pleasing. And I really like how you retained the lighter shades of green in the bg. They seem to provide an appropriate separation from the subject.

Nice vivid colors and good detail, Craig. IMHO a bit more DOF - just a bit really - would help. ( Why F/2.8 with tripod and cable release? )

Hi Craig, Beautiful reds.
I think the flower needs a little more space underneath, what do you think?
Cheers,
Carol

Hi Mauro,
Tripod and cable for more control while using Live View and working around gusty winds.

Craig, Nice vibrant colors and repeating patterns from the petals. Some space at the bottom might have been nice but this still has loads of appeal

Hi Craig, I understand now.
I must admit I use a Wimberley plump to keep the flowers steady: you fix one end to the tripod and the other one to the flower, it can really help

Strong image, Craig. The central positioning works really well here for the state of the flower. I like the red on the dark bg very much

Beautiful complementary colors Craig and great light. Beautiful flower and image. Great dof decision for my tastes. Breaking the framing symmetry at the bottom doesn't bother me here. Very rich...

This must be what a supernova looks like. Outstanding color, and especially control of the reds. Great light and the centered comp works well for me.

Nice shot Craig, Dahlia's make such great subjects. I agree with Carol, mayber a little more room at the bottom? Minor though, strong composition as is.

Very cool bloom Craig! I like the perspective too. I do wish slightly that the bottom petal was not clipped by the edge.

All these fine Dhalia images make me want to find me some Dhalias to shoot! I love the vivid colors. I agree on just a tad bit more room at the bottom.

Craig: What a beautiful specimen and a fine capture. I especially like the DOF/POF choice and the vibrancy of the reds. Top notch. >=))>
