Totally boring flat shot. I was just playing around with a small version of my orig and changed colors, added the shells. I liked it more without the shells but it seamed like it was missing something. Somehow the foreground sand became more detailed I have no idea how I did that. Anyway this is the outcome. Pretty pastels and very nice layered look. I might try to add a tiny bit of shading to the shells to give them some dimension.

I do like the soft pastels in the color palette Wendy. Not boring! Just simple and subtle.

This would look great as a print hung in a beach cottage. Or anywhere for that matter! Love the pastel palette. This is so calming and the suggestions offered are all quite good. My suggestion with the shells is to keep it simple, as Cindy mentioned, maybe just the starfish or a couple of sand dollars in a lighter color. Splendid image.
