Woodland Runes

The markings on this log reminded me of ancient runes. I made the triptych to enhance the patterns, especially the ones under the log. They look like cutouts..IMO --neat contrast between "ancient" runes, and modern symbols.

I think it's well done Lucy. I'm curious about the "cutouts." Were they created and added, or were they in place when you made the exposure? Either way, an appealing image.

Ron Here is the progression of photos....

First I converted the photo to infrared BW, then tinted and cropped. Here you see the progression. The bottom, final one is cropped at the bottom to make the "cutouts" very angular.

So, to answer your question...they were already there, but enhanced by the infrared BW.

Thanks for looking

Lucy, Very interesting look. I really like triptychs and this one has a great look. I might make the bars in the center a little thicker if it were mine-just to give more separation but it is wonderful as presented. Looking forward to your next one.
