I have recently moved to Scottsbluff, NE. We made a trip out here in the spring to look the area over. We had to go see the most commented on land mark by all the settlers moving west during the 1800. Here is one of the images from our visit.

Canon 30D
Sigma 17-70
Aperture Priority
Shutter 1/1000
Aperture f8
ISO 400
17mm
Handheld

That's a pretty cool formation, and some nice trees in the gully too. The left most 1/4 or so of the image is oky, but not really adding anything IMO. I could see a different comp featuring those trees in a more significant way, along with the Chimney. I'd think it would be more dynamic in a tighter arrangement.

Beautiful tones, but might be one of those times when it would pay to get closer to the subject, or some telephoto isolation - just a thought.
