Bald Eagle's are back...

Bald Eagles are beginning to fill our sky's again!

Last year (here in Orlando) the nest fell down during a storm, both Juvi's were saved and released. This year the Male is back right on time... September 1st like every year. Female should arrive in a week if all goes like the other years!
We are anxious as to where they will build the new nest. Seems they have many choices all in the same area! We will soon see..

Here is the Male waitng for his mate to arrive

Male Bald Eagle waiting on his mate. We know it's the male because he is missing a talon on his left foot.

Awesome to hear the male came back. Nice image. Exposure looks spot on. I hope they build their new nest in a good spot that will be secure for the eaglets. I have seen several BEs at other sites in around our area the last week or so too, plus blue-winged teal, peregrine falcons, etc. Early migrants are showing up. Can't wait for the awesome time to come this late fall and winter.

Nice detail, sharpness and exposure Eric. I like the open bill that gives us a look at the tongue. It always seems slightly strange to me imagining these birds down there in that heat. Around here most don't arrive till the dead of winter when it's very cold.

Eric,

Nice exposure, pose, details and light. The angle is a little steep but slash pines don't normally have branches low on the trunk, though when I lived in FL I often wished they did. I like the pine bough in the background, the slightly open bill and the comp you used.

really nice, Eric. the angle is a little steep, but the details are good and the open bill pose is a treat.
