Big mobs of little Diamond Doves came to drink at an outback waterhole on Bowra Station, western Queensland.

Canon 7D, EF500 f/4 + 1.4 tc, tripod set low, ISO 400 f/13, 1/500, cropped slightly to remove tilt.

Super shot Simon. Great DOF here and for this shot it was perfect IMO. Great sharpness on the bird. Love the eye the most. Reflection and bird's tails in each corner is a great comp IMO. Well done.

I like everything about this image - low angle, great exposure, interesting bird and a nice reflection.

Nice image Simon. The reflection is very nice. I like the comp with the tail pointing directly to both right side corners. That eye is incredible. Nice image Simon.

Superb details and nice reflection. Once I saw these in Richmond NSW and realized how tiny they are.
Good work Simon! :toast:

We don't see many photos of birds drinking it seems. This is a fine example. Good composition. :toast:
